Revisitations 1 box set

It sounds mealy-mouthed, but the big, box set releases hastened my demise as DWM‘s regular DVD reviewer. Just too much stuff to wade through, and a little soul destroying watching a zillion DVD extras that were often neither very good, nor very bad.

The Waters of Mars

From DWM #417. This was the first-ever Doctor Who TV story I reviewed for DWM. It displays my preoccupation with the distance between writing these things, and their publication. Dunno why I have a thing about that. Upon reflection, it’s a bit OTT. I’m a little embarrassed. But then, The Waters of Mars was rather good.

The Sarah Jane Adventures series two box set

From DWM #416, and after taking on a Hartnell and a Pertwee, suddenly it was a Sladen. I had quite a lot of fun writing this one, mainly because I’d thought of the Tomorrow People angle beforehand, and that was enough to tip me into the rest of the review.
